Spencer Rico
Spencer X. Rico is a Chicanx poet studying English and Chicana/o Studies at UC Davis. Rico has served as an editor for Open Ceilings Magazine, and a cast member of the UC Davis EOP “How We Rose” poetry series about first generation student experiences and storytelling. Rico is also a member of the UC Davis Creative Writing Honors Program and a finalist for the Pamel Maus Contest in Creative Writing. Rico’s work has been featured in Columbia University’s Latino Heritage Month Magazine, Acentos Review, Protest Through Poetry, and elsewhere.

Rojean Janzad
Rojean is a third year at UC Davis majoring in Cognitive Science and English. She primarily enjoys writing fiction, but has also recently begun writing poetry in Farsi. She tends to gravitate towards themes of absurdism and likes to find the grounding humor and beauty in the mundane. She loves incorporating surrealist scenes stemming from her own struggles with sanity and understanding of reality. In the future, she hopes to work in Speech Pathology and write something meaningful.

Bryce Shirley
Bryce Shirley is a writer from Los Angeles, primarily focusing on poetry and essays. His work often deals with themes of morality, identity, desire, and shame.
Bryce’s poetry has recently been published in the Davis based literary magazine, Open Ceilings.
After graduating from University of California, Davis with degrees in Cinema and Digital Media, Art History, and Professional Writing, Bryce hopes to move to New York to further pursue writing and gallery work.
